Back Orders, Returns, Shipping and Insurance















Back Orders:  (within the US)

    When you place an order and some items are not in stock, we put them on back order for you (unless you ask us not to).  All the items from your order, including those on back order, make up the full order.  Any discounts that apply will apply to the items shipped and the back ordered items as well.  When the items from your back order arrive in stock, we set them aside for you and ship them as soon as we have at least $20 worth to ship.  There is no shipping charge to you on Back Orders*, so you only pay for the shipping once. In order to expedite this process, we do not contact you prior to shipping backorders.

*We distinguish between "Back Orders" and "Special Orders."
Also note, very large quantities of stock items are considered "Special Orders."

    When you place a new order, we always check to see if you have back ordered items that we are holding, so these will be added to your order.  Your back orders are listed on your invoice.  At any time you may request a list of your current back orders.  If at all possible, please do not call on the phone to "check on your back orders."  To request your list, simply click on the following: Back Orders.  You will then receive your list via email. Please be sure to put your name on the message.
    If you wish to cancel some back ordered items, we will be happy to assist you.  Please do this by email if you can!  It helps us if you include your full name when you make this request, so we don't have to search out who you are via your email address.  Many of our customers use more than one email address, and it can become confusing.
    We do not accept "additions" to back orders.  In the past we did accept this, but we found that we had to spend a tremendous amount of time making these kinds of changes, and our delivery times for regular orders suffered.  Just include the items you wish to add in your next order.
    If you keep track of your backordered items, you will avoid ordering the same item twice unexpectedly.

Back Orders:  (outside the US)

    Back Orders for international customers creates a bit of a problem.  International shipping can be somewhat expensive, depending on the weight and value of the shipment, shipping method and the destination.  Generally speaking we do not cover shipping costs for back orders to international destinations.  Normally we hold your items until you are ready to order again, or we can ship them to you via the most inexpensive method available and charge shipping for this.  This is your choice.  Please let us know how you wish to proceed in this case.

Special Orders:

    When you place an order for items that we do not stock as regular inventory items, we order these from the factory and ship them to you when they arrive.  For regular Back Orders (items from your order that we normally do stock) we do not charge shipping.  However, for Special Orders we do charge shipping, but only one time.  If the items from your Special Order arrive over time and we ship part of them at one time and the balance later, the second or any subsequent shipping of those special orders are shipped at no shipping charge.
    When you place a very large order for some stock item, we generally treat this as a Special Order.  For example:  Suppose you order 4 factory packages of 5040-6mm CR (crystal), and we have only 2 factory packages.  The back ordered items (2 factory packages) would be considered a "back order" and you would not pay shipping on this.  However, if you ordered 25 factory packages of this item, we would consider the extra 23 factory packages as a "Special Order."  This is a grey area, unfortunately, and we make every attempt to be fair and reasonable about this.

Returns:

    Our customers occasionally wish to return some items to us.  We have a specific policy regarding all returns, so please read this carefully if you are planning to return any items to us.

    1. Return Authorization:  All returns require a return authorization.  An "RA" number will be assigned to your return, and your return must have this RA number clearly marked on the package.  To get an authorization you will need to contact us first and describe your situation and why you wish to return you items.

    2. Documentation:  We require that you document your return.  A copy of the invoice, or at least the invoice number is essential.  If you have lost the invoice, we can trace it for you by the date of the shipment.  So please be sure to include this information, or ask us to help you get this before you return your items.

    3. Time Frame:  Normally we will authorize a return for items that have been shipped to you within the past 10 days.  However, we realize that there might be circumstances that make this either problematic or even impossible for you.  If there is some special reason why it has taken longer than 10 days, you will need to explain this and the return will incur a 15% restocking fee.  We will accept no returns at all for items that have been shipped to you after 30 days.

    4. Stock Items:  If you wish to return a "stock item", then there generally is no problem.  (A "stock item" is an item that we keep in our inventory for immediate sale.)  If you have ordered one of our stock items by mistake, or you have received a color for the first time and realize it is not what you wanted, then we accept these items in return for full credit.

    5. Special Order Items:  Special order items fall into two categories.  If the item is a "Standard Item" for Swarovski, then we can return this to them, provided we receive them in a time frame that allows us to return them to the factory.  If Swarovski allows us to return them, then we will allow you to return them to us.  Otherwise not.  This usually means that you will need to return them to us within 10 days of receiving them.  If we authorize a return of a Special Order Item, there will be a 15% restocking fee.
        If the item is not a "Standard Item" for Swarovski, we cannot return them to the factory.  In this case we cannot accept your return.  If you have any question about what is a "Standard Item" and what is not, be sure to clarify this before ordering.

    6. Our Mistake:  If we have shipped any item to you by mistake, then, of course, we will accept your return, provided it is made within 30 days.

    7. Packaging Your Return:  It is very important that you package your return carefully, so that the items are not damaged.  Surprisingly, we receive many returns with the crystals loose in the box.  No credit can be given if the items are returned to us in a damaged condition.  All of the pendants, prisms and larger beads (7-12mm or larger) are packaged in plastic trays, either inside small white boxes, or covered in styrofoam and taped down securely.  When these are placed in the white factory boxes, we always cover them with enough padding over the crystals to make a tight fit, so that they do not dance around in the box during shipping.  When these crystals bang against each other, they may get chipped, especially the larger beads.  Once the beads are chipped, we cannot resell them.  So please package your returns with care.
    Please call us for an address for your return shipment.

    8. Exchanges:   We do not make direct "exchanges" of items that you received, unless, of course, we made a mistake on our shipment.  We ask that you include any item that you wanted to exchange be included in your next order.  We are sorry that we cannot provide an exchange service, but to keep our prices as low as possible, we need to maintain minimum orders at $75.  Thank you for your understanding.
 

Shipping Options within the US: (For International Shipping options use the link.)

    Our two primary shipping options are USPS mail (Priority or First Class) and UPS (Ground, 3-Day, 2-Day, and Overnight).
    Most of our orders below $500 are shipped via Priority Mail.  To most destination this arrives in 2-3 days.  Orders over $500 are often shipped by UPS.  If you do not specify a shipping method, we will choose the one which seems most reasonable for the size and value of your order.  If you must have your package by a certain date, please let us know.  We will then choose the method that is the best value and still will arrive on time.  Please specify your shipping preference if you have one.
    We are located in Arizona, so UPS ground shipping times should be figured accordingly.  To locations on the East Coast, shipping will be about 1 week.  To midwest and northwest locations, ground shipping is about 5 days.

Shipping Guarantees:

    Both UPS and USPS offer "guarantees" for delivery times within certain guidelines.  Refunds are sometimes (but not always) available for shipping costs when deliveries do not arrive in the guaranteed times.
    For example, UPS has a number of "guaranteed" options, including 3-Day, 2-Day, Next-Day, Next-Day AM, etc.  When you pay for these shipping options, your package normally arrives according to the guaranteed date and time.  If your package does not arrive according to the guaranteed date/time, your shipping costs will be refunded provided there are no "acts of God" which prevent delivery.
    The primary "act of God" is bad weather.  If bad weather prevents your air delivery from arriving on time, UPS will not refund your shipping costs.  We will make every attempt possible to refund your shipping costs from either UPS or USPS when a package does not arrive as promised.  If we are able to get a refund, we will pass this refund on to you.  However, if we are unable to obtain a refund, we will not be able to pass this on to you.  Our guarantee is to do the best that we can to get your package to you on the date requested.

Insurance:

    We insure all of our packages to you, unless you specifically request us not to insure them.  If you have any questions about insurance, please contact us for information.
